New floor plans now available!
We're excited to reveal the new floor plans for our flagship London venue, IET London: Savoy Place, which is scheduled to reopen in October 2015.
New lecture theatre
As well as a total refurbishment of the Main Lecture Theatre, a new addition to the second floor is being built - the Watson Watt Lecture Theatre. Like most rooms in the new venue, this space will feature cutting-edge AV, built-in IT and will be able to run events in parallel with the larger theatre below. Maximum capacity for this space will be 175, increasing the total capacity for Theatre-style-seated events to 626!
Additional event space
Introducing The Heritage Library located on the first floor, this new event space will accommodate up to 145 delegates seated on round tables - perfect for any type of event from conferences to dinners and drinks receptions. An added feature of this room is the access to the two balconies giving incredible views of the River Thames and Londons' impressive skyline.
New Faraday Centre
This newly reconfigured floor has been created in particular with our IET Members in mind and will encompass an all-new lounge space, Knowledge Centre, Library and Kelvin Lounge complete with panoramic views of the Thames.
Stunning views across London
In addition to all of these changes, each floor has been cleverly reconfigured to maximise views across the Thames, including uncovering some previously hidden windows and dropping a number of the front façade windows to floor level.
As you will see from the plans, not only has a new access lift been introduced to the main entrance on the ground floor but the number of accessible toilets has been increased on the basement, ground, second and third floor levels.
