IET London: Savoy Place refurbishment
Welcome to the fifth of our bi-monthly video updates about the refurbishment of IET London: Savoy Place.
In this video we will bring you the latest construction news, tell you what we're doing to encourage more engineering events into the building and talk to Anne Locker from our Library and Archives team.
It's nearly a year since we closed IET London: Savoy Place and we're now firmly into the construction phase!
In mid-May a crane was erected to remove our old lecture theatre roof and put in a steel support structure for the new Watson Watt lecture theatre, which will sit on top of the old one.
The back wall of the Riverside Room has been removed ahead of the room's expansion. In the centre of the stairwells space has been cleared for the 'celebrating engineering' sculptures we are planning, which will sit alongside other exhibits throughout the building.
